Very easy to use: it doesn't irritate or photosensitize and works morning and night. It usually comes built into Korean anti-aging serums and creams (look for "Adenosine" in the INCI), so you rarely need to buy it separately.

What it pairs with

Compatible with everything: retinoids, vitamin C, niacinamide and exfoliants. It's a good partner for retinoids — adding anti-wrinkle effect without adding irritation.

Frequently asked questions

What is adenosine in skincare?

A nucleoside found in every cell of the body that, applied topically, is associated with improving fine lines. Korean regulation (MFDS) officially recognizes it as a functional anti-wrinkle ingredient — which is why it shows up in so many K-beauty products.

Does adenosine actually work on wrinkles?

It has regulatory recognition in Korea and studies showing modest improvements in fine lines. It's not as potent as retinoids, but in exchange it's virtually impossible for it to irritate you. Think of it as a supporting act, not the star.

Adenosine or retinol: which should I choose?

If your skin tolerates retinoids, they're the first choice: decades of evidence. Adenosine is the alternative (or complement) for sensitive skin, pregnancy, or daytime routines where retinol doesn't fit.
